Six-figure boost for View Holographics

A North Wales-based specialist in animated holographics has secured £500,000 from public and private sector investors.

View Holographics received £250,000 in equity finance, part of which is from several private individuals, including four investors from xenos, a Welsh business angel network. The remainder of the equity funding is from Finance Wales, a subsidiary of the Welsh Assembly Government.

The balance of £250,000 is in the form of a grant from the Welsh Assembly through its SMARTCymru programme.

The company, whose clients include Saatchi & Saatchi and Shell, recently completed work for the National Museum of Wales which involved producing several holograms from historic artefacts which needed to be kept out of public viewing for their own protection.

Stewart Jones, founder of View Holographics, says the company will use the funding to develop products with appeal to a global market such as retail window displays, outdoor advertising at bus shelters and point-of-sale units.
